Looks to me like a promotional 'sale' - you list a relatively rare piece for an overly inflated price.

It gathers interest like this thread and helps to direction attention to you and your website. RE have done it a few times on eBay over the years from memory.

Nice way of getting some free publicity for your website!

i agree with you, but if you offer timor razors for 40dollar you will find only a few new to shaving guys who will buy from this website.

Boy, good thing i do not like the Fatboys! Wow, i could have bought two or three rhodium British Aristocrats for that price!

Way to much for a Razor so common, of course its new old stock, Sealed in Package, but just not. Rare item for me, to justify that kind of price, I would Say Half the price Tops, and thats a dair price. What would you guys dish out for a Fat Boy in this condition ?

B&B membership has its percs
I appreciate minty razors with their boxes et al, but not the sealed ones that some jamoke thinks should be worth 300 times what they sold for when newly manufactured consumer items. But, they are rare, so they are worth whatever you can get for them, my max would be $100

I bought a rhodium re-plated FB for $90. Many said I was crazy....hey, it's my money. It's a great razor...keep it on 5 or less and you can shave blindfolded. If you go > 6...well, you are warned you're on your own.

From a collector's standpoint who is buying it for it's historic value and will never shave with it or even open the original packaging, that is worth the money it's going for and probably more. If you want to have a fatboy in it's original packaging to show what it looked like as it hung on the display shelf, then you kind have to go for it the way it is and I doubt that there are very many fatboys in this state anywhere in the world.

When you consider that a mint condition first issue of the spiderman comic which came out in 1963, which cost only 10 cents at the time sells for somewhere in the vecinity of $40,000.00. And that a Superman first issue cost 10 cents and is now worth $350,000... you come to realize that this fatboy, at the price it's going for now, is actually quite competitively priced. I would actually put this on there as a real auction and watch it go for more if I were the seller.

Well on that logic how would you value my NOS Olympic Special Pioneer Old Type?

One of only six known to exist and three unopened - shall I list on B/S/T for $1000+?????

I still think that this is intentionally overpriced to attract attention to their site.

Interestingly doing a whois you find the domain owners name and ABN (Australian Business Number) with the ABN being a requirement for registering a 'com.au' domain. Looking at the Australian Business Register site the ABN was cancelled in April this year and the owner is not registered for GST - interesting. Not sure I would do business with them....
