Jim Green Shoellie - Houston Brown

Well I have been searching for a new pair of shoe for a while now and haven't had much luck to say the least finding anything within my price range that I could appreciate at the same time. Thursday Boot Statesman were the fall back option but I also almost bough a cheap $60 pair of crappy shoes just to be done with it. Somehow I got lucky on Saturday and had a short youtube video from Rose Anvil in my feed. I went browsing the Jim Green website and saw those Shoellie, I went around looked at the few video I could find and almost ordered them on the Jim Green Website indicating a November delivery when a search for some more reviews showed they were available on amazon and could be there by Monday 2 days later. So ordered they were. Knowing the 1 month return policy of Amazon and the ease to return stuff I did not felt

I a not disappointed, they feel great in the hand, the reviewed I had read were pointing at a few details folks did not liked. A large toe box (yeah they can look like clown shoe a bit). Heel slipping I can see why a huge logo of a frog on the back of the shoes (clearly that person did not looked at the picture or paid attention to the brand style as they all have one, at least in this color it blends real well)

I ordered a 9.5 as they advise that they fit true to the brannock size (last measurement at an Allen Edmonds store was L 10C and R 9.5D).

The quick try I made tonight show that I got the right size for me, yes the left foot is a bit tight in the heel but I assume the break in will help with that and if there is one thing I try to remember is that I hate my right foot to be loose in a shoe more than the left foot being tight in one.

and now a bit of por.. errhhh picture

I am working from home this week so I will start the break in process tomorrow morning wearing them in the house only. The few step I took have clearly shown that I will need to adapt to the low heel compared to the rest of my shoes.

My pair of barefoot Rangers have finally, mostly broke in with some work and they may just be ok once I figured out insoles and a soak.

Several months of off and on. I probably don’t have the “proper” size, but darkened the color with a conditioner so I kept them and made them work.

It’s a different footbed than yours
Those heels are as stiff as they come.

There is a customization option on their website for a price. Has anyone ever tried to order them without the huge logo. I would pay extra to not have the logo.

I did not saw that. I understand that the logo can be off putting even though it is not as visible as it seems
