Ever Ready Butterscotch with stand - best knot?

Picked these two beauties up today. The no-name metal handle will obviously have to be reknotted. I'm wondering about the butterscotch-- I'm worried that a regular knot won't fit inside the stand, especially after it blooms. Any suggestions on how to reknot this so that the knot stays nice and tight?

(Oh, and before anyone suggests keeping it as is, the original boar bristles are really stiff and brittle; it's pretty much unusable.)

I dont think it would be a problem Check this out.

You might have to slant it out, but it looks good that way in my opinion.

Interesting fallback position, but I'd still prefer to have it as originally designed. Any other thoughts?

Just make sure to restore it with a small knot. I'd say keep it 18 or 20mm and it shouldnt poke out. Or you can always modify the stand a bit.
Either way good luck!

nice stand and brush!

Thanks! Here's a more recent photo, after a polish with Flitz. (Also shown, the no-name post-Flitz and a 1930s Gillette NEW I just picked up):
