DR Harris Soap Bowl

I’m just about to pull the trigger on a bowl of DR Harris Arlington soap but I need some advice first.

Which bowl to choose – light or dark??

Not a huge deal I know but keen to hear B&B preferences.

I love dark woods and Harris has nice bowl but check out Muhle if you like soaps for the wood bowls. Cool color and the contrast of the label is nice.

I have both the mahogany, and the beech. I prefer the beech, i think it is the much nicer looking of the 2

I was leaning towards the mahogany (if that's what it is now) but the beech looks nice too.

Will make up my mind tomorrow:biggrin1:

I've got the beech, in my humble opinion it goes with the fresh Arlington scent.:blushing:
Why not get the Marlborough in the mahogany as well ?:001_smile

If you have a couple other bowls in either shade, get a matching bowl for the Arlington. Otherwise, remember that any soap spillage will be much easier to see (and to clean up) if you have the mahogany bowl!

Also remember the bowl is not made of mahogany, it is just stained that color.

I have the arlington in beech and marlborough in mahogany. The Beech shows nice graining the mahogany colored bowl, is just a redish stained bowl. I love the look of real mahogany and the rich dark color, but I would pass on the Harris Mahogany bowl.

I have Arlington in a beech bowl. It's one of the three soaps I've bought in its fancy bowl, the other being TOBS Lavender, which I sold in B/S/T, and Omega, which is really just a hardened cream, and which doesn't have a "refill," although somebody with a strange streak of parsimony might try to re-use it by squeezing the cream in a tube into an empty tub.

I think it looks outstanding. Get the beech.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I eventually decided on the beech (light coloured) bowl - the only reason in the end being I might see a nice grain in the wood.:tongue_sm

Mahogany is my choice. It stands out more from the lighter colored Penhaligon bowls in my shaving den!:biggrin1:
