IMO Fine - L'Orange Noir Shave Soap

I bought this soap because I liked the AS scent and I had never used Fine shave soap. I have used this soap about a dozen times. I have to say overall it is only adequate. No matter what brush or approach I use, I end up with un-lathered lumps in the mix somewhere every time. The only way I can truly eliminate them is to lather the ^&*( out of it in the bowl for a truly inordinate amount of time. This is not my preference at all as I am a face-latherer and do not want to whip the soap into a lather in toto before using it. As far as slickness and protection, it's ok. It is certainly not B&M or DG... anyway, just felt like venting.

I've looked at this soap a few times but never pulled the trigger. Is the AS a natural orange scent or synthetic and how long does it last?

Have you tried Trismegistus from DG? If you like that scent it will probably check the box there, but with much better performance.
Mike's orange/cedarwood/black pepper is another really good one, similar to the Terre d'Hermes scent but with some subtle differences (I've never found his soaps to be overly strong other than the honeysuckle, so it's not like it would clash with the Fine AS if you did that pairing).

Thanks, yes on Trismegistus, I'm a diehard DG fan - they are easily in my top guys; DG, B&M, Wholly Kaw, Mike's, Talbot...

It last several hours, I can still smell it sometimes 4-6 hours later but of course it has faded.

The "Parfum" is always a concern - if it were an essential oil or something, they'd say so. Otherwise it seems pretty good ingredient wise.
Ingredients (INCI*): Alcohol Denat., Water (Aqua), Fragrance (Parfum), Isopropyl Alcohol, Menthol, Lilial, Citral, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool.

Thanks!
