Custom EJ Handle From Elite Razors

I just received this custom handle from Bob at Elite Razors. The handle was made to specifications for my Edwin Jagger DE89. It was shortened to approx 3" and the total razor/handle weight is about the same as the original combination. Bob does fantastic work.

Curious, does the razor head thread directly into the gold quartz or is there a metal insert?

There is a metal rod that goes almost entirely through the handle according to Bob at Elite. I can see the tip of the rod that screws into the head. This gives added weight to the handle as its only 3" long.

I do the same thing with my wood and synthetic handles, improves the weight and balance and provides a secure location for the threads.
