Couple of videos showing good MWF lathering

This latest video from the venerable Mantic deals solely with this mystical soap. Video contains a number of specific tips and suggestions for gents who may be struggling to get the best out of MWF.

And here, on the same day, Teiste posted a very good illustration of how lethering MWF can, after some practice, be lathered with just as much convenience as most other hard soaps.

Cheers to Mark and Teiste, I'm sure these videos will be helpful to a lot of new users :thumbup1:

Very helpful Ignatius, thanks for this.

I admit to struggling with getting the best lather with MWF.

A few things I noticed from these videos:

Mantic loading the brush with the bowl upside down.
They both face lathered. I have never done that with MWF.
Teiste went back to the water, I think 3 times. The lather on his face looked pretty good to me after he went back once.

I am going to try these today.

I actually hit the water 3 times as well, just didn't show it.

Excellent post and videos. Good to know that I (instinctively) do the upside down loading of the brush...with all my soaps, not just MWF. But, I never soak my soaps in water and I bowl lather...I get fabulous lather out of MWF :thumbup1:

both were excellent videos but I've never had an issue with MWF and I've never soaked my soaps before lathering because I've always thought I never soak my shower soaps before using them, so why would I do it with my shave soaps?

but if they help the new guy discover the greatness that is the fat, then

I never tried the upside down lathering - and I have never soaked the soap in water. I usually put a couple of table spoons of water on the puck and let it soak for a few minutes. If the water disappears, I then add more water to the puck.

However, I plan to try the new way of lathering MWF.

It must be a water thing. I fill the depression in the center of the puck with water and let it sit for the time it takes me to fill my sink and scuttle with water and grab my brush. When I start to load the brush from the puck , I immediately get lather flowing over the top of the ceramic dish. I go to the scuttle for maybe 20 seconds before finishing by face lathering. Loads of great lather!

Thing is, these videos only show the lather for one pass. I'd be curious to see what it looks like on the third pass, since MWF is not very stable.

Grrr. I've been waiting for my puck of MWF for 3 weeks now! I'm getting really pissed off with the whole situation...
