What...wha...?

a .357 carbine as a carry weapon? That must be one hell of a holster!:w00t:

Anyways, here's mine (not exactly mine, but close)

I carry Bianchi speed strips instead of speedloaders.

Yeah, Cali really sucks as far as that goes. Hawaii is about the same.
I carry my Glock 21SF. I don't have any trouble hiding it, but I am going to pick up a 30. Everyone knows what they look like.

Out here in AZ we have open carry. The few times I have done that (I will eventually get a CCW) its been either a S&W mod 19 .357 or or a Taurus UL titanium .38 special. For concealed I purchased a Taurus Millenium Pro PT111 9mm. Sorry no pictures, don't have a digital camera.

I love all these guys who "carry weapons", the question is, will you use it?

Yes, but I pray each morning there will be no need. If you aren't prepared and trained it's a much better choice to leave them at home. Here's one (XD45c) that gets carried often

yea, but the real question is even if you have decided in your mind that you have no problem using the weapon when it really comes down to it and your staring someone in the face will you fail the test and hesitate. Rest assured the bad guy will not. No one knows the answer to that until they are tested, even police officers.

You are right on that one.

Ray,
I carry, and I shoot often.
As part of my personality, I am constantly going over possibilities, looking for exits/escape options.

I never want to be in a situation that forces me to draw my weapon on someone, and will do all in my power to avoid it.

However, as life has a way of putting people in situations that they'd rather not be in, I practice drawing from concealed, and un-aimed shooting (not that I dont hit my target, just that I don't take the time to aim, and use my experience to put a bullet where it needs to go by feel)

Will my practice yield positive results in a life or death situation? Honestly I have no idea, as thankfuly I havent had to find out. But I can tell you that I will have a better chance that someone that gets their carry permit/license, and only shoots when they have to renew.

I practice my own art of self-defense, which I haven't thought of a name for as yet. When I need to go into a questionable area, I dress in such a way that no mugger would ever suspect me of having a dollar in my pocket, but wearing a good pair of running shoes. If an attacker ever should, in spite of my appearance, chase me into a blind alley or something, in the pocket of my four-inches-too-short bib overalls I have a Ruger SP101 in a pocket holster. Wish I could remember the brand of the holster, I would put in a plug for it. It is made by some retired cop who sells them online and it is really nice. It breaks up the outline of the gun, stays in place when you pull the gun, and allows a fast draw. Which I have not needed yet.

As someone who "carries guns," I have been where I would have had to shoot someone. In my mind I already had and was preparing for what to do when people came running out. Fortunately it didn't end that way. There is an inate resistance to killing each other in sane people. It's not as simple as just being willing to kill someone, and nothing to scoff at.
