C.O. Bigalow aka Proraso Shave Cream Directions For Use

Hey all,

The Directions For Use states: Apply an ample amount to wet hands to build up a great lather or use with a brush. Apply to face, shave and rinse.

My question is do any of you use the wet hand technique? And if so on a regular basis?

I use a brush!!

I've applied it with wet hands to my wet face and then proceeded to lather with a wet brush, I'm not sure I could build up such a great lather with my hands.

Tried it last week at the sink. Not recommended.
Tried it last week in the shower, slick like you would not believe.

Maybe I just missed out on some water first time.

Brush still works better.

I've done it while travelling (specifically I used Musgo Real, but its the same concept). Just put a dime-sized amount of cream in wet-ish hands and applied directly to face (didn't have a brush). It semi-lathered, but the shave was fine. I had to re-apply for the next pass, though.

I see a lot of posts about using brushless creams or using non-shaving creams such as Noxzema as a non-lathering cream, but any shaving cream, brushless or not, can be used brushless.

I ran out of Bigelow but the only time i will use the wet hand technique with any cream is if i shave in the shower.

Most creams can be used brushless but most brushless creams cannot be used with a brush. IMHO, if a brush is available, use it.
