C&E Sandalwood cream in a jar

Man, this stuff blew me away. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. It had a so-so scent in the jar, but it was new and I like Sandalwood. I got a sample to take home, and whipped up a little bit of it in my bowl, using the same water ratio I use for my soaps and other creams.

Great Googly Moogly, but this stuff lathers! I got a thick, slick, extra-rich lather in almost no time from this stuff, and that's not even using a generous portion from cream. Plus, when I lathered it, the scent really came out! It's got a kind of spicy sandalwood to it, and hours after the shave, I can still catch lingering bits of it as it tickles my nostrils. I think I like this stuff. It comes in a jar/pot, unlike the other creams(which come in tubes). It's very rich and quite heavy.

I'll try a few permutations of this stuff, to see how much water it wants and what's optimal, but I am really surprised by it. I may have to acquire a full jar of it.

I only saw the jar at my local outlet, but that's just a sampling of one store.

I now own the C&E Sienna soap and the Nomad cream (in the jar) and I am very pleased with both. My experience with the Nomad cream mirrors yours, great lather, easy to whip up, and a really good scent that hangs around just enough that you can catch occasional whiffs of it here and there throughout the morning.

The selection has been a bit spotty at the store that I have been going to in Atlanta also. I don't think that they had any creams in a tube when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

I've found the soaps to be a bit drying to the skin. The C&E creams are much better IMO. I need to pick up a jar of the Sandalwood. Did you see the Sienna there? It's not listed on their website. I hope they bring that back. It's my favorite out of their entire line and I'm beginning to run low!

I found a little shop just off campus that has two tubes of the old Sandalwood cream for $16.95 each. That's a bit higher than what they used to be online but it's cheap enough that I might have to pull the trigger!

So was this a good reformulation? I don't have my jar anymore to compare but will probably pick up another if it's the same or better.

I wasn't aware it was reformulated. I had the old version of Sandalwood, but had to sale it. I find the CE creams to be better than any of the 3Ts, and certainly an excellent performer. They burn my skin (nomad, sienna, sandal). The SAO worked well and did not burn though.
I think their shaving soap sucks

I agree. I think I bought my SAO cream and soap from you Will and they are fantastic. Even the soap is good. But I have a hard time with the other soaps. If they did reformulate the creams in a glass jar I can't wait to try them.

I couldn't say; the old Sandalwood cream would be from before my time as their patron. I know it works like gangbusters for me, but I don't have the old formulation to judge by. Maybe ingredients could be compared?

Not sure that C&E stopped production of the sandalwood for reformulation; they just dropped a lot of product lines (including sandalwood) and closed stores. I bought my last just before they dropped it, and it is an excellent cream. I agree that it is "strong" on the skin, but that hasn't bothered me personally. Oh, and as a "history" note, believe C&E has been owned by a company in Malaysia for a number of years.
