Bill Ellis razor in one-piece olivewood

I recently got one of Bills razors and even though it is 1/4 grind it is not a heavy razor like most 1/4's that I have. I was surprised just how light it is. The back is 3/16" if I remember correctly so the heft is way down.

Nice razor you got there. It is almost a shame to shave with it, isn't it?

Take Care,
Richard

I set the razor aside to be used this weekend but still haven't shaved with it. I will definitely use it this afternoon though.

My custom straight made by Bill Ellis just arrived today, and I am completely speechless!

Here are some more pictures taken by Bill. Notice the beautiful engraving on the spine and the yellow gemstone.

The scales are one-piece olivewood place on a 6/8" ATS-34 stainless steel blade.

That is one amazing razor. If straights work for me I know who I want to make one for me in the future.

Once I get the str8 thing down, I plan on investing in an Ellis razor... they look great, are reasonably priced and from what I hear offer a great shave.
