Best Cold Weather Shaving Cream

I have been a lurker for quite awhile now, this is my first post and have done a few searches and have not found an answer to this question. I'm fairly new to wet shaving the last 8 months or so and now that it has gotten cold my usual c.o. bigelow seems to be really drying me out!!! I have a very course beard and follow kyles shave prep system. Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Just go into creams a few months ago.

Thinking about the same situation as winter approaches.

Godrej Deluxe may be the answer as it contains lanolin.

Maca Root SC from The Body Shop has been pretty good for me in cold weather. I'm taking a break from my C.O. Bigelow for a couple days, not because it's cold but because I'm trying various samples.

For a cheap as chips, yet excellent shave in the cold weather you can'y beat Palmolive. However, I am enjoying the Key Lime scent of Cyril R Salter Essential Limes, that scent just takes you away to warmer climes. TOBS rose gives you an excellent summer fragranceBoth of these creams have excellent moisturising properties. At this time of year I use a barrier against the could. Boots do an excellent Rose skin balm, it is a petroleum jelly and really does protect your skin.

One of my favorites for winter is Proraso Red. The Menthol is less pronounced than the Green and something about it seems better suited to my skin in winter.

You might consider using an after shave balm or even a moisturizer to help protect you from the drying effect that winter weather can have on your face.

I finish up every shave with witch hazel and ASB, and last winter I had no issues with dry skin no matter what cream I used.

In my scuttle I'll combine TOBS 'Shaving Shop' cream with any number of other soaps, e.g. CADE, D.R. Harris 'Arlington', various iterations of Ogalalla Bay Rum, or Col. Conk Almond or Bay Rum.

I would be less worried about your shaving cream than about moisturizing your face after shaving. I prefer a cologne-scented, or woody/spicy cream in winter but I find that what I apply after shaving has more to do with the condition of my face.

Welcome to B&B!

Pretty much anything without menthol should do!
