Anyone use shave soap to wash your face at night?

I was curious, and decided to knock out 3 birds with one stone..... I practiced my lathering technique using a new silvertip, broke in the brush a little, and washed my face!

So my question to all of you, is: Have you ever whipped up a lather just to wash your face before you go to bed/wake up or whenever you wash your face?

To answer your question..... no. I have, however, used a poorly performing shave soap in the shower.

75% of the time I shave, I first whip up a "pre-shave" lather and let it sit on my face a bit before rinsing it off and then going to a different soap or cream for my actual shaving lather. It does a nice job softening the beard and I can get the pre-shave lather wetter than I would like for shaving, which helps.

Sounds like a soap maker needs to come up with a formula that produces black lather for the ninjas.

Add that into the Coconut request thread. We've already got the name, "Tropical Ninja"!

Soap is pretty easy to color... Lather is quite a bit harder, but probably can be done just by adding a lot more coloring because you're really just diluting the color with air and water... which don't contribute much color typically. Black is tricky though, as it's usually just really dark blue/purple already. Odds are unless you add a ridiculous amount the resulting lather would be blue.

Hmm.. try squid ink... we can probably convince people it's a nourishing, all natural ingredient that improves slip and leaves their skin silky smooth.

I do this all the time. I actually have a few that did not make it for a shave soap. What I do is build some lather on the face and let it sit there while I shower, softens the beard and gets it ready for the "real" soap.

Whatever puck soap I have that is not my favorite I keep at the sink for handsoap/face soap. Right now it is a honeybee sample. Was conk almond.

Lately I have been using MWF to shave in the morning and Tabac to wash my face at night. My skin has never felt better. I would recommend it to anyone.

Both face lathered with Muhle Synthetic Kosmo. The synthetic handles twice a day use easily.

This is what I do, the Wee Scot does a great job at making a single pass worth of lather. I also use the last bit of lather to scrub my entire face after a shave.
