What's new

Any brush holder recommendations or ideas?

I started looking at B&B on 2007. I've been away from the site for awhile. I retired, moved moved 2000 miles, etc. Now I find myself back here reading about shaving again.

As I said I moved. In my old house the bathroom metal trim was brass colored, so I bought a brass colored shaving brush stand. In the new house everything is stainless steel colored. So of course I need to buy a new brush stand (or several, since the sink area is now bigger and both my wife an I have seperate sink counter areas (whatever they are called))

I was looking for ideas about nice, attractive brush stands.

thanks, Tom

i have a home made barber pole in my bathroom. (with a light on top and everything) and i just use some copper wire around the pole and it sticks out and i use the other end to wrap around the brush handle. every shave i use a new brush and hang it out to dry.

Welcome back, Tom. I hope that life has treated you well in the meantime. You will probably find that simply standing your brush on the handle will get the job done. Personally, I haven't used a brush stand in years and my brushes haven't suffered any ill-effects.

...and I ask how many brushes do you want to hold on a stand?

Although I have a few brushes, I like my stainless steel 2 razor, 2 brush stand!

I'm liking everyones ideas. The stainless 4 brush holder looks real nice. The first 2 suggestions were great.
This morning I put them by the sink, just standing on their handles as suggested, they do look real nice that way. I guess it depends if I like the looks of the handle or the brush better. I will be looking down on them.

I have 9 brushes but am thinking of selling a few. I seem to have lost 1 in the move. I''ve liked a few that I saw on a web site that also sells brush plugs and handle blanks. This will take a lot of thought. Good thing that I'm retired hahaha

Thank you DJH. Life has been treating me much better that I deserve. I do like your idea. Simple, free, easy.

I do love the Godfather. The book and all 3 movies. Vito looks like a straght razor man.

I keep mine in a cabinet (see bottom photo), but before my wife found and refinished one for me, I had my eye on a mantle-like shelf she has up in the bathroom. She got it several years ago when we lived in Colorado, but I expect something like it wouldn't be hard to find. She says it was cheap. You'd want to put it where you wouldn't bump into it and knock off brushes while groping in the dark to find a light switch. But advantages would be having your brushes off the sink counter and at eye level.

I have the same stand as the Count. It's ok. Looking for another solution. Might end up just standing them up like a lot of other's do.

Here's mine. I had to make it myself as there aren't many ready made stands out there. My bathroom is tiny, so I had to be creative to have a collection of shaving items.
