Last week I decided to try a handful of wonderful razors for the first time each (with such a nice collection brewing, I really needed to try more of them!). A week long rotation of a different one each day. I did mix up soaps, creams etc. (still learning the DE/SE sort of), but used the same blade for 5 out of 7 (a fresh Dillette 7 O'Clock Sharp through day 6, then switching to a Derby that had a few shaves left on it, and a GEM SE for the Junior Bar).
Tues. (day one) began with a 1912 Canadian Single Ring Gillette. This was followed by a 4th quarter '58 Fat Boy (birth time razor), a '29 (?) New Standard, a '34 Aristocrat, 1908 Gem Junior Bar, 1921 Big Fellow and ending with "Ike", a 1953 President.
These are all wonderful razors. I shaved better with some than others, but of course the blade was only fresh once, each razor may prefer a different blade, lather was different each day, etc. etc.
End result, nothing worse than a DFS, and very nearly a BBS on one or two occasions. It was an honor to use these beautiful vintage tools, steeped in history.
