Supply razors and blades

I received my Supply SE a couple days ago. So far, my shaves have been great using the Black Label blades that came with the razor.

1. Are the Platinum blades that much better than the standard Black Label ones? There's a 50% cost premium. I'm leaning toward continuing with the Black Label blades because the Platinum ones are more expensive and the company says they are more aggressive. I have sensitive skin and using a DE razor, I've gotten my best shaves using a mild razor with Feather blades.

2. I've been using a regular six-sided die to keep track of the number of times I've used a blade. Any suggestions on how to keep track of the uses of the Supply blades? The company claims that each blade is good for 8-10 shaves.

Thanks!

I've not seen anyone mention the Platinum blades before this thread. I got the email, but $12 for eight seemed steep and I don't see how a titanium coating improves a blade. I wonder why they call them platinum blades? Seems disingenuous..

The naming system needs help. The Black Label blades are chromium plated and they aren't black, just as the Platinum Label blades are titanium plated and not Platinum.

I get 10-16 shaves/blade with my Supply SE. If you like using dice, you can track that with 2 dice - when you get to 10, use one for the tens and then you have another 6 shaves. Or you can use a 6-sided and a 4-sided to do the same.

I have the Supply 2.0 and have used only blades sold by Supply since I purchased the razor back in 2019.
I haven’t used the new Platinum label ones (still using black) but this is the 3rd blade upgrade they’ve released and so far each release does in fact seem to be better than the prior.

I usually shave every 3rd day or so and I have been changing blades at the beginning of each month.
When i shave every other day I swap on 1st and 15th. It just keeps me from counting shaves.

I ordered two sets of the black blades when I bought the disposable versions (I doubt the regular razor will get through if I try to carry on my luggage.

I found some twelve-sided dice on Amazon for about $7. When I finally needed other stuff, I added the dice to my order. I used my current blade 11 times. I may try using a blade that many times again just to double check, but I think the maximum I can regularly expect from a blade is 10 or possibly less.

When I shaved Monday through Saturday, I would change blades every Thursday because I regularly got six shaves from a Feather blade. Ever since the pandemic started 4.5 years ago, I haven't shaved as regularly. Today is Saturday and I haven't shaved since Tuesday. I'll have to use my electric trimmer before taking a razor to my face. I do miss the regular nature. It's a lot easier to remember to change blades based on the calendar then to keep track of how many times I used a blade.
