A/S that complements woody colognes well?

I am looking to try a splash That complements a woody cologne well - the few I have tried so far have more of a "green" scent and don't seem to go with a woody cologne too well. Any suggestions?

I always try & make sure that any splash I use doesn't interfere w/whatever scent I apply afterwards. So something in the unscented camp comes immediately to mind.

I know guys say their scents dissipate quickly but for me, both Speick's & Proraso's splashes tend to stick around, scent-wise, much longer than I'd like them to. That said, splash-wise imo Harris Pink fits the bill. It's a light floral that's virtually gone by the time it's dry so it definitely won't interfere with whatever you choose to wear afterwards. If you can get your hands on it, Tüff's Sensitiv splash also has little to no scent. Otherwise I'd just go for a light, unscented balm.

Yes, this is just what I was looking for - something that smells nice but with minimal longevity so as not to conflict. But maybe something else besides Pink.

For me, Proraso splash doesn't stick around too long - gone before I leave the house. Yet, during that initial stage I can't help but feel like it is conflicting with my cologne.

Any other choices out there with minimal longevity? The Harris Pink rose scent is not the most appealing to me and I gather it is expensive based on the reviews.

get lucido aftershave. Its basically scentless and will not conflict with any cologne.

I agree with Evbo on the unscented products, especially if you're not sure.

The cade balm, however, is worth a shot. It kinda depends on the AS or cologne and what notes are strongest.

Although the webstore has some drawbacks, the Shave Den Store's unscented AS milk is a decent product.

I disagree. L'Occitane's Cade is almost strong enough to be used as a scent by itself. Plus, it's been discontinued.

It's great stuff, no doubt, but I don't think it's what the OP's looking for.

Did they just recently discontinue it? My wife just gave me a bottle for Christmas. I guess I need to run to the mall and see if there's any left.

You don't think Cade's scent is "woody"?

Does it have to be a splash? SCS's Aspect is about the woodsiest scent around and goes very well with other woodsy scents

If you're going with a woodsy cologne, the first ASB that comes to mind for me is The Real Shaving Co. It smells woodsy, like tea tree oil.

You want Lilac Vegetal. About a month after applying it, you can safely use your cologne with no risk of interference.

+1 for Pink. Also, GFT Sandalwood comes to mind.

How about 4711? I've never used it, but the reviews say that it has low staying power and low interference with colognes. Anyone care to shed light on that one?

4711 is shortlived but all florals and citrus. I'd call it anti-woodsy. But if someone wants a splash with no interference, Thayer's unscented is a good affordable product.
