What's new

First Post ... Hey Guys!

I’m an 18-year-old just getting started with wet shaving and super excited to be here! I’ve been fascinated by wet shaving for a while as my dad is a member here, but I recently stumbled across some videos about double edge shaving and got hooked. It looks fun and I’m ready to dive in.

I just was gifted my first setup: a Merkur 34C, some feather blades, a boar brush, and a container of Razor Rock Puros shave soap. I’ve only shaved a couple of times so far (still peach fuzzy), and I know I’ve got a lot to learn. Angle, pressure, lather—there’s so much more to this than I expected, but that makes it even cooler. I love learning from my dad but I enjoy exploring and learning on my own as well.

I’m here to soak up any advice you’re willing to share, especially tips for beginners and maybe ways to upgrade my setup as I go?
Looking forward to being part of this community and learning from everyone here. Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie!

I also love to fish and do so every day that I can. When i'm not fishing, i'm making lures and planning for the next fishing trip. If anyone has tips for NY fishing I would love to hear them. I've been fishing for almost 5 years now and don't plan to stop.

I am starting to get into fragrances as well. I currently have Jimmy Choo Man, Undiscovered by American Eagle, English Leather, and a classic, Drakar Noir. I like earthy, woody, citrusy, fresh, and subtle sweet fragrances.

Looking forward to learning and being a part of this community.

Welcome!

Your Dad has done you a great favor by steering you down this path. You'll find as time passes that life takes over and the time you have for yourself is limited. Getting a great shave is one of the best ways to spend those precious solitary moments.

Let us know if we can help in any way.

Welcome to B&B. My son, a little younger than you by a few years is hooked on fishing as well. I just gave him his first wet shaving set up this year for Christmas.

The fastest way down the wet shaving rabbit hole, while not actually shaving advice, is to start going to antique/junk stores, look for vintage razors. They should be pretty reasonable priced and you are likely to find v8ntage lures snd the like as well. Once you buy your first vintage razor you'll want to know about it, which will lead to looking it up online, which will introduce you to a bunch of other wet shaving related info along the way.

Good luck snd have fun.
