A few completely random facts to celebrate 500 posts...

Good Evening Gents!

A few months ago, I was surfing Reddit and felt compelled to push the "random" button. Lo and behold that brought me to a section of the website called wicked_edge which celebrates, discusses, and educates single and double edge wet shaving.
I was on a huge frugal kick and just couldn't get over the disparity in price between my fusion carts and DE blades, so I took the plunge.
Shortly after, one of those reddit links brought me over to B&B. I couldn't believe there was an entire website devoted to B&B stuff. I knew I would never be "that into it" so I quickly closed that tab before anybody caught me on "the shaving site".

Fast forward a few months, and here I am surrounded by the best group of online users that exists in the world today.
I've had countless hours of informative entertainment and even made several friends along the way.

All that background is just to say "THANKS B&B" for being a special place. I've noticed the gentlemanly habits practiced here spilling into the rest of my life, and I'll never be without wet shaving again in my life.

So now, I present to you a few totally random facts. Have a nice night.

1) Have you ever brushed your teeth with a sonicare toothbrush right after applying a mentholated after shave? If you haven't , you're missing out. All of those 10,000+ micro pulses make the mentholated chill jump and sing on your face. It makes me laugh every time I brush my teeth.

2) Proraso sandalwood is stupid good. If they ever come out with a C.O. Bigelow tube that is red shiny metal akin to today's green tubes, I'm going to go broke buying out their stock.

3) Artisan soap makers are awesome. If you haven't tried any of Mike or Michelle's soaps yet, stop reading this post right now and buy some.

4) The B/S/T is awesome. I recently traded for a Simpsons T3 2-Band there and that brush is incredible. Now you know.

Thanks for reading (if you made it this far ) and have a great night and Father's Day B&B... if you're part of why this site is so amazing, you truly deserve it!

ps - if you actually read this, could you share a totally random shaving related observation as well? It could make for some really fun reading. THANKS!

I'm from r/wicked_edge, too, and am new here. Honestly, it is growing and there are some really knowledgeable, nice people who post there. I really like the amount of info here, but still feel that I'm more likely to get a quick answer over there. I've only posted one question here - about how long people wait after they've gotten sliced, and received only one response. However, as I said, I'm new here - I need to learn "the ropes."

Ha! 444 has the right texture.

I'm not entirely convinced I couldn't use my Vitos Ice as binaca or mouthwash in a pinch :)

One of the fringe benefits of old-timey AS is the memories they invoke. The first time I smelled Clubman I was taken back 45 years or so to the barbershop my Dad used to take me to when I still had to use the booster seat.

Totally random shaving fact? Ok...here's one we can all identify with: it's basically impossible to save money with DE shaving, and almost as impossible to use up one type of soap or cream while others are waiting in the wings. Ha!

Oh, and one more: for every person at work that I have convinced to take the plunge, and who then said "how much difference can there be between different blades?", I say to you - I told you so.

Good stuff! This is the first I've heard of "Reddit"....I'll have to give that a look.

Sweet baby Jesus, be careful over there! Lots of good stuff, but it's easy to get sidetracked into the more "fun/dark/NSFW" places!

On a shaving related note, I tried TOBS Avocado mixed with Proraso Sandalwood yesterday and the result was fantastically performing and smelling lather!
