What's new

'70s era sleigh

Picked this up a couple of weeks ago at a local car swap meet. It is a mid '70s Flexible Flyer around 60" in length. Big enough for my 2 kids. Like the tricycle I did earlier this year for my daughter, the Flyer will get a freshening up. Here is the finished trike. A mid '60s MTD: $Trike Final Day 001.JPGAnd before:$Tori tricycle 001.JPG

Keep you all updated on the progress.

Finally had some time today to give this project some attention. A few weeks ago I stained the wood with Benjamin Moore's ArborCoat Natural Cedartone color. I followed up with Loctitie Rust Neutralizer on the light rust spots on the metal. Today the metal received Rust Oleum's acrylic enamel gloss red. $first coat 001.JPG

Nice looking restoration project. You did a great job on the trike.

I have to admit when I see the words flexible I think of the Flxible Clipper first :001_smile

I still one one of them but SWMBO won't let me have one

I had a flyer when I was a kid in the 60's. My father painted my initials on the middle slat, and it was painted blue! I loved that thing, wonder what ever happened to it :crying:
