During my tenure leading quarterly restraints, I've noticed someone with no exceptions is more likely to complete the restraint successfully. This is purely just my casual observation, though.

I failed in 2016 when I bought a handle from my brother who started making them (it was $4 because I just bought the resin block--but it put me out). Since I was already out, I also bought a Razorock Hawk. If I don't get more blades for Christmas, that's the only thing I plan to buy before this starts.
I might not even need a restock. I'll have to check my reserves.
All I need to restock in the next couple weeks is a handful of Kai DE's for my ATT Slant and various artist club SE blades for my Colonial General and Feather SS.
Not in, because I only keep what I need for a couple of months on hand these days and therefore actually run out of shaving stuff occasionally. With Christmas on the way, I also don't want to spend a bunch of money on shaving stuff for myself. However, I am looking forward to witnessing the coming zombie apocalypse as people fall by the wayside, succumbing to evil temptation.

I'd agree with this. What got me in this years restraint is I looked - and then I bought a Razorock Hawk, follow by a Schick L and a Colonial General.
During my tenure leading quarterly restraints, I've noticed someone with no exceptions is more likely to complete the restraint successfully. This is purely just my casual observation, though.
Interesting. Do you stop looking all together? By that I mean, do you stop checking in to B&B? or just the BST, Vendor sites?
Good question. For me I have such a satisfying kit I just have no desire to hunt for anything else. My Tech/NEW Hybrid + Haslinger Schafmilch + Rudy Vey brush is all I'll ever need. The only vendor sites I ever check are the ones where I restock my Haslinger and razor blades, and that's only when it's getting time to restock which is only once a year now.
But I'm on B&B almost daily and enjoy it a lot. I'm just not here to search out the latest 'n greatest anymore. Although I do enjoy reading about other people's finds/reviews/searches/etc. I mostly post and/or read about coffee and Scotch these days - two thoroughly enjoyable rabbit holes on their own.
As a matter of fact, I'm enjoying a nice dram of Talisker 10 as I write this post... cheers!
