Item Description
This was my prize in the Badger & Blade contest. It was the prize I hoped to win but the brush itself is of far greater luxurious quality than I imagined it would be. Charles at QED was great to speak with via email as well.
How to describe it? It's like having a Hermes saddle in the house, something of surpassing quality and luxury that I have a look at and smile each time I pass by. It lathers incredibly. These photos don't do it justice as, alas, the water softener gave up the ghost on picture day and my water returned to its hard-as-nails self. But you can see that this brush is HUGE. I included a cufflink for scale.
Ready to go. The soap (Honeybee) lives in the lower part of this mug, the lather is whipped up in the top.
The soak. A mug for everything and everything in its mug.
A few swirls.
The lathering is fast and profuse. On my face, the tips are very soft yet keep the lather moving and increasing in volume.
Lots of lather for the squeeze-out of super-hydrated stuff for the second pass.
It's a great addition to my modest collection of gear. Gentlemen, if this one is on your list of possibilities, do not hesitate to make the move. It is hard to imagine being disappointed with such a big, beautiful, weighty brush fit for a King - or Beau Brummel!
