Interesting "high-tech" custom scales

Saw this on boingboing today, some custom scales made of a circuit board:

I thought this was a pretty clever bit of custom scaling, myself!
 
I don't know how I feel about that. In one sense, it's very cool. I love sci-fi and techie stuff. But in another sense, It's a flippin' straight razor! It's about tradition and heritage and history, not silicon. Anyway, just my thoughts.

Today in my ongoing series of photos from my travels over the years: a beautiful straight-razor that Jack brought to my talk at UC Irvine last year. Jack used an antique cut-throat razor then made his own handle using circuit boards.

O RLY? I suspect "Jack" is lying or at best being economical with the truth, since garythepenman made that razor in 2006 and sold it on SRP. :thumbdown

I like the scales. However, Its not something I would add to my collection but I find it very interesting to see material like that used for razor scales.
