Winters coming..gettin dry skin

Winter is coming and my hands, especially my knuckles, are already starting to get dry and hurt. Overall my hands don't usually get that bad, but my knuckles can get so dry that they crack and bleed. Also tend to get some dry skin on my face, around my nose, but usually that isn't quite as bad.

So I ask if anyone has any recommendations for hand moisturizer that they have found works great and doesn't leave your hands feeling gross and greasy anytime you touch anything afterwards. I am curious as to some recommendations I get as the guys on here know about some great vendors online whose handcream I have not had a chance to try.

The hand cream by locctaine is very good, but also very expensive.

the Aveeno intense relief hand cream (maroon cap and label)
works quite well, is water resistant, and more readily available.

Also used cold/lukewarm water when you wash your hands this will dry them out less.

Also some suggest to put on a thicker lotion/cream or natural shea butter and put on a pair of cotton gloves over them to help them hydrate overnight.

I recommend gold bond and aveeno. For shaving Kent/MWF soap as it contains Lanolin (good for keeping skin soft). As for the nose menthol rub should work good or those puffs with the lotion. Forgot cocoa butter is good too and I think if I'm not spelling it wrong aquaphor (it's aqua something (used on my tattoos)

I dunno about locctaine (ones I used had alcohol in it and burned like heck)

Aveeno Intense Relief (or something like that) is the best I've used.

I find that you can do a lot of moisturizing at night while you sleep, so your hands don't have to be so goopy/greasy during the day.

At bedtime, put the Aveeno stuff on your hands. If your hands are really dry and likely to get worse as winter comes on, proceed to put tube socks over your hands after you put on the Aveeno.

Do this every night. You'd be surprised how much relief you will get.

Porters hand lotion is actually very good, as is corn huskers. I use them because they leave my hands feeling clean instead of greasy. I would second the Norwegian formula if your hands start to crack.

If you have a Body Shop nearby, try the hemp line of products. They always have tubes open in the store for samples, and I believe they have a hand cream repair cream. I have the body butter and it is VERY moisturizing, basically the only time I can use it is in the dead of winter or my skin is TOO moisturized. Also, it has kind of an earthy smell, not at all perfumey like many of the drug store lotions.

I find this at wally world it's called udderly smooth it's made to soften cows teats and works better than anything I've ever used it's non-greasy and literally disappears into your skin. I get white flakey skin and this will vanquish it in a few days in fact you will feel improvements immediately it's usually with the creams and lotions and is very inexpensive I've learned dancers use it on their feet

Corn Huskers works great, not oily and smells darn good. Living in the desert really intensifies dry skin and this stuff works great.

Greasy or not, Bag Balm; apply it when going to bed to hands and feet and wear gloves and socks. It worked great when I was stationed @ Glasgow AFB, MT and was out-of-doors in up to -40 & 50F weather.
