What's new

CeraVe is my new favorite

I have sensitive skin and become very dry in the winter time, yesterday my shaving soap has so little in the bowl and I saw my wife's CeraVe cleanser then give it a pump on top of it and the result was AMAZING!
The tight and dry skin feel after shaving soap is gone and skin stays so hydrate after.
Combine with lotion after shaving and it feels great all day long.

Guys, not saying you should steal your wife's stuff but hey, look around, they might know something. My wife also have sensitive and dry skin
The product has very little to none scent, also affordable, and you can find them everywhere.

The cleanser foams good but does not stay very long, I found out add a full or half pump on your soap works the best.
Also you might need to use a bit less water than usual.
I strongly recommend to give this hybrid lathering method a try.

CeraVe is great for my shaving needs and it has good PH levels for healthy skin care. Most cleanser soaps are on the alkaline side of the PH Scale that goes from 1-14 and 7 is neutral, 1 is very acidic & 14 very alkaline. Natural skin is slightly acidic around 6-6.5 on the PH scale.
CeraVe is much closer to natural skin PH levels on the PH scale with moisturizer and cleanser also.
Thought you might want to know and others, I have been using CeraVe cleanse and moisturizer for 3+ years and it works well + millions of folks around the world use it daily also! (old archived Photo of litmus paper testing I did in 2024 on my shave products)

Right, this is almost what exactly my wife told me, shes been using some fancy stuff but all in all the simplicity of CeraVe just works and almost beats all the big brand names.

I've been wondering about facial cleansers for shaving — some of them of have ingredient lists that are very similar to shaving gels and creams I've used in the past.

Unlike most so-called artisanal aftershaves, sprays, and balms made by people who have no idea about dermatology, simply for commercial purposes, CeraVe is a medical, dermatologically tested product that has undergone extensive research. Most customers are misled by fragrances, and artisans are very aware of this fact, which makes them emphasize fragrances over mechanical qualities.
The situation with CeraVe is radically different. It has no fragrance, but it does exactly what it is intended to do, without irritating the skin, because it does not contain a single ingredient that is a potential allergen.

This. Exactly this.

It’s my number one brand for skincare. Amazing.

Try the cream instead of the lotion, even better.

I like the cream mixed with a little water as an aftershave balm. No need for a lot of different balms when this product works so well. There's no scent to speak of.

The cleaner can be used for pre-shave.

CeraVe PM facial moisturizer is great. I only use the AM if I know I'm going to be in the sun for more than a couple of hours. I love that it's scentless and just leave the fragrance to my soaps/aftershaves.

Pretty good stuff. I bought a bottle of the non-foaming cleanser when I was in either Estonia or Sweden. When I wasn’t able to find Noxzema. I used it a a daily facial cleanser until I got payed off in Norfolk. I was surprised on how it didn’t dry out my face. Especially in cold or salt air environment. 👍🏼

Another vote for CeraVe. My wife has some skin conditions and saw a dermatologist. The doctor actually recommended CeraVe or Cetaphil as opposed to more expensive type moisturizers, saying that both the recommended brands had extensive testing done and that the more expensive products often don't do as good of a job.

This sounds like a good alternative for me to try when my Noxzema runs out. I really like the effects of Noxzema as a preshave, but I hate the smell.

Two questions:

1) Can anyone vouch for the cleanser they call "makeup remover" that comes in a jar with a screw top?

2) As far as the other cleansers, it looks like they all come in pump top dispensers. Pump top anything is something I try to avoid, as I find that residual clogs the exit hole and I either get a clump of congealed junk or, worse, I get a blast that shoots who knows where (I've seen the latter fairly often with hand sanitizers). Do the Cerave cleaners in the pump tops tend to clog like this?
