Williams out VDH Deluxe in at Publix

Was just in my local Publix (Atlanta area) and as I swung down the pharmacy aisle I noticed that the Williams shave soap was gone and in its place was VDH Deluxe for $1.99 a puck. They also had the Deluxe shave set, with boar brush, soap and bowl for $9.99.

That's a good price on the VdH Deluxe. Now if they only carried the VdH Luxury. It makes me wonder - why the switch? Is the store manager a DE shaver? Whatever, it's a switch for the good.

My local big box grocery stores don't even carry canned goo much less anything else useful for shaving

Heck I've never noticed Williams, VDH or any other shaving soaps at Publix and I shop there a couple times a week.

Publix by me closed out Williams about 6 weeks ago. It started at $1.49 then .99, .79 and I picked up the last few for .49. I have a good stash of Williams now. Haven't noticed them carrying the VDH yet.

Went to pick up a new puck of Williams at Publix Friday and noticed the same thing. It's a shame really as the only place to get it now is CVS.

Seems to be storewide. Was at Publix tonight (Florida Panhandle) and they have the deluxe soap and starter kit. Picked up the soap (have never tried it) for $1.99.
