Wilkinson Sword Classic - sharp plastic edges!

I need a very mild shave and after experimenting with various DE razors (even a Gilllette Tech is a bit too harsh for me) I have accepted that nothing can match the Wilkinson Sword Classic, that mass produced bit of black plastic. The problem is that I often find sharp plastic corners rubbing against my face; when I run my finger against the edge of the razor they are easy to feel. If I buy about three razors and mix and match the two components of the razor, I can usuallly find a combination that works smoothly and that lasts 6-12 months until the screw thread gives way and I have to start again. If this a problem others have found, and is there any way round it?

I have not found that with this razor, i have found however that for the price (under £5) this is a great razor and is miles better than the cheap boots de razor, in fact I still use this one occasionally as it gives a pretty good shave

would a blue tip superspeed not be worth a try, they are mild razors, the wilkinson sword black classic is the mildest razor i have tried, thats not to say its bad, it does a job, the bluetip i find milder than most techs.

The Lord L122 is EXTREMELY mild, more so than the '60s Travel Tech I had, so that might be worth a go. It's just as mild as The Shaving Factory TTO I started out with which is the same or extremely similar to the Weishis from what I understand.

Wisky - I am in the UK. Fine sandpaper is a good idea, thanks. Mild, to me, is not about closeness but a smooth, quiet cut and lack of irritation afterwards.

Has anyone else used the Lord L122?

Give the Weishi a try it is the mildest razor I have ever used, much milder than a Tech. they are very cheap as well. I haven't tried the Wilkinson Sword Classic but I am planning on getting one.

The Shaving Factory TTO I have is a butcher...

I have a feeling there is a good bit of range in manufacturing quality of The Shaving Factory models. Mine also led to irritation, but it was because there was so little blade exposure that I had to use A LOT of pressure to get anything resembling the same closeness as even a cartridge razor. The Lord L122 falls in the same boat.

I'm also going to pick up a Rimei, partially out of curiosity and partially for the case (DX.com sells it with a travel case for $4 shipped, the Amazon models come blister-packed for around $2.50 shipped).
