Wiki - Straight Razor FAQ

I'm looking toward getting "real" straight razors as opposed to shavettes. I've got a puzzling question that the FAQ totally assumes I already knows the answer to...

5/8, 6/8 and so on.

I ASSUME this means "5 eighths of an inch"?
Happy to wade into the wiki and edit away to make it clearer for n00bs like me.

Yep, thats it 6/8ths of an inch etc. This is almost always used to describe the distance from the top of the spine to the cutting edge.

The actual measurements are often a tad bigger than the listed size, particularly on a new blade. My Dovo special 6/8 measures at least 1/16th larger. Have others found this to be true?
