What's new

Which of these are best for a noob starter kit?

After being on the receiving end of many generous offers here at B&B (poonjaji, valdez, ateace, gobeavs to name just a few of the recent ones), it's high time I finally put together a noob starter pif. Bars on these all seem to be straight with the exception of tech - one bar is bent in toward the razor. Not pictured is a flair tip SS - it disappeared while I was cleaning it somehow. If I can find it, it's another possibility for the pif. Teeth on the open comb are all straight as well.

My vote goes to the Fat Handle Tech!! You really can't go wrong with a Tech for a newbie, and the Fat handles are very nice. :w00t:

Although my personal favorite as of late has been my 3 Schick Injectors (a Type E, a Type H Hydromagic, and a brand new never used Type L; it will probably get used for the first time ever later this week). Injectors are awesome, and a little easier to learn proper angle on (since the proper angle is pretty much built in).

The bar on the tech is bent enough to where it would probably affect the shave. I haven't actually shaved with it - maybe I should just so I know (I've used gillette adjustables exclusively since I started using DEs)

DOH...you did say that, and I totally ignored it. Sorry.:blushing:

That being the case, I don't know what to pick. I personally wouldn't recommend the Old Type for a newbies first razor, so that leaves 2 Superspeeds, and a Knack that I have about equal feelings about.

Let's give the edge to the Knack, simply because I like it's longer handle. :thumbup1:
