Which country makes the best soap?

I don't know if there has been a similar post in the past but I think its an interesting question. Great options from many European countries (MdC - France, MWF - UK) and some really good hand made soaps in the US (Mike's, Mama Bear etc.). For me, in my limited experience, German soaps seem to be consistently great. What do you guys think?

Best shave soap? Germany IMO. Tabac/Sir Irisch Moos, Dr. Dittmar, Speick, Gold Dachs, Calani, Klar Seifen, Klar Kabinett, Dovo..... to name a few.

The Germans, the Italians, the English and the French all have good chances in this race.

There's no possible answer to this question IMHO. All countries with a great barbershop and soap/cream making tradition have their own gems.

Agreed! I am a big fan of the Belgian Palmolive soaps and cremes, but there are quality soaps to be found in many countries.

I think that soaps should be judged on their individual merits. Country of origin really doesn't mean anything in my opinion. A single country can produce both terrible and wonderful soaps (and everything in between).

I believe the question offers a false premise.

I most enjoy Italian soft soaps. However, such soaps are not always made in Italy.

Italy. If you have Vitos and or Razorock. Thats all you need. But seriously. Ive yet to find an Italian soap/croap I dont like. I also like Provence Sante soaps but not as much as the Italian soaps.
