Where to get staright razor sharpenned in Canada?

I just received a stainless steel straight from China. I am not able to hone an edge. The thickness of the blade at the sharpening side is 60 mm and how to I get down to 6mm. I would like to use a professional straight razor sharpening store in Canada

Can anyone please advise?:mad::frown:

Check out Rasage Poulin. To the best of my knowledge, Dan(Floppyshoes) does the honing for them. I can testify to his expertise. I have used him for several of my razors and the edges were all excellent.

Actually I think Dan (floppyshoes) hones for Fendrihan. I don't know exactly where they're located, but it's somewhere in Ontario.

Can you give some more info on the razor?

Some cheapos are not honeable.

I purchased a stainless steel straight razor from ebay- Singapore China. I love the feel of the razor but it is impossible for me to get an edge. The thickness at the edge of the blade is nearly 26 thousands of an inch. That material makes the sides of the blade too far apart to make a sharp edge. I would need a professional to get this sharp or a machine shop. Over heat??

The razor is no longer available. I threw it out, $10.00 item from China could be used in an actor's play but not to shave with.

From the fendrihan site:

"This blade has been honed by D. Gauthier, an experienced straight razor sharpener based in Montreal. Mr. Gauthier has honed and restored hundreds of razors for clients all over the globe. Each blade sold here is sharpened to perfection on a variety of hones and finished on a japanese Nakayama Maruichi stone, giving it a very sharp, yet smooth shaving edge."
