In an effort to clean up my den, I'm trying to use up the last of the Stirling samples, Noir and Bay Rum. This morning I mashed them together in one tub so I could clean the other. A little of the mix served as a pre-shave after my shower; then I face-lathered with my APShaveCo synthetic tuxedo brush, and my Gillette NEW SC planed me off without drama.

This soap pays homage to the late David Bowie with his image emblazoned on the top. It ranks among my favorites. I had the privilege of seeing Bowie play live in 1974 at the Universal Amphitheater in the San Fernando Valley. Appropriately, they served champagne at the bar. That show ranks among the finest I have ever witnessed as Bowie strutted his stuff in front of a demanding Hollywood crowd. Jazz aficionados will likely know of one of the members of his band, the incomparable saxaphonist David Sanborn.
