What's new

What's your soap for today?

Stirling Scots Pine Sheep, SV Manna di Sicilia, SV Mirto di Sardegna.

So yes, I used 3 soaps for one shave. I was curious how I would find the lather of Stirling vs SV, and SV with the manufacturer recommended slightly bloomed method vs loading of the dry puck.

My biggest conclusion is that SV loads a thick creamy protolather in a matter of seconds with a damp brush on a dry puck just as easy as a pre bloomed soap, but without the blooming the soap will stay in a nicer condition imho. I do take the pucks out of the tin can already, and put them in wax paper so they can dry without trapping a lot of water in the tin can underneath.

Stirling does the job just as well as SV, but SV smells more sophisticated.

Plisson, very good but boring, and tired of soaps spinning around and breaking up eventually.

I have some Castle Forbes, Le Père Lucien, and Martin de Candre.

Otherwise Proraso is hard to beat.
