In 1966 they would have been performing as the "Young Rascals" right? Unless it was really early in 1966, maybe. I think they changed the name back and forth.

Styx w/April Wine as the opening act. Saw them at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City MO. in Dec. of 1979.
Funny back story. I was 14 and in the 8th grade, our junior high music teacher would take 8th graders to a concert. Basically we were on a field trip. We pulled up in front of the venue in 2 school buses and piled out to wait to go inside. I remember hearing someone ask if we were on a field trip since we were in school buses. When we told them yes we heard "WOW what a cool teacher you have!!!"
When this teacher retired he commented that he probably took more kids to their first concert than any other person in the area.
