What's new

what type of hair in an Omega 618?

ok, so i bought one of these earlier today because it was rather affordable but a lot softer than my omega boar.

now: does anyone know what type of hair this brush is made of? the only thing it says on the box or omega website is 100% badger.

thanks !

If it says 100% Badger then it is Badger hair and it will be considerably softer than a boar hair brush. I just did a little research and it is Silvertip Badger hair and it looks like a very nice brush. You will want to use soft soaps or creams to get a good lather. I would think the harder soaps will be a bit of a challenge to get the best lather from because the bristles are much softer than a boar brush.

Nice score

OK, thanks a lot for the info:)

i mainly like to use soaps, but recently got myself a tub of proraso and cella (god i adore the smell of the latter).

I assume if i let the soap soften a bit with a little water before loading the brush i should be fine?

yes use a bit of hot water about 5 minutes before you are ready to make your lather. pour off most of the water but leave just a little then you should be in good shape to make your lather.
