What sort of sicko am I?

I need help

I give my face a rest at the weekend and don't shave.

But lately, at weekends, I've taken to going through the whole shavinfg ritual including lathering up some cream or soap and slapping it on my face.

That is odd enough but then I proceed to "shave" using a bladeless razor. Surprisingly my technique is so good with a bladeless razor that I only need to do one pass. I then rinse off and slap on some moisturiser.

So the questions I put to you dear friends is what sort of sick basket am I? And can someone give me the name of a good shrink in London please :)

You don't need a shrink.
Just use a nice fresh blade.
That is what you really need.
Everything will be better after a good shave. :001_rolle

Dude, that is, ummm, a bit over the edge. Just stick a blade in and finish it, man!!

Probably some long buried guilt which is making you punish yourself by not going all the way. You are denying yourself the pleasure you deserve.

Write down whatever is bothering you on a piece of paper, ball it up, and take it outside and burn it. Better yet, wad it up, stamp on it and throw it in the trash. You should recover in about two weeks.

On the other hand, this could be a diversionary practice to keep you distracted from what you really need to be doing. Like an obsession, or a compulsion. If you are also washing your hands over 50 x a day, then you may want to see a bartender er I mean a doctor. :a16:

Actually, I have done the same thing. I have found that doing Kyle's prep is great razor irritation relief. Really soothes my irritated skin.

You don't have a blade in, so you don't know if the angle you are using is good or bad.
You are using the razor for 2 days out of 7 (almost 30 percent of the time) and you are reinforcing whatever technique (good or bad) that you are using.
If it were me, I'd either stop doing that, or put a blade in it so you don't reinforce possibly bad technique.

I'd say you are just the garden variety sicko.

Best idea is dont smile at those re-runs of The Young Ones or The Goodies.
And Cntrl+scrollwheel will stop you squinting at the monitor.

Thats all the rest your face needs, then you can shave at least once a day. If you just do one pass at a time you can get 3 or 4 shaves a day .

I thought about doing a multi-shave day. WTG in the morning, XTG in the afternoon.

I love the whole prep routine, the shave is anti-climatic.

I have a few 35mm film camera's and I like to routinely 'dry fire' them. That is go through the whole photo taking process compose, focus, advance shutter and fire even though I don't have any film in the camera. Reading what you do just put a smile on my face and reminded me of what I do. I'm sure guys that collect guns do something similar.

Guess it's the kid in us just practicing for when we do the real thing.

There are still plenty of blades in the system. We are not at critical mass yet.
Take the blade, put it in the razor and use it! Yes, feel the whiskers come right off.
Yes! That is the ticket. The blade, use it! :thumbup1:

With guns, it's dry-firing. It's actually incredibly beneficial to accuracy, and can smooth out rougher triggers.

At least, that's what we tell ourselves... *click* :wink2:
