Feels like I finally dialed my new razor from PAA. Ascension Select Twist Adjustable. Shaved last night. And my face still feels smooth, no soreness or tightness. Only took about 7 shaves to do it.

Was reminded how magnificently the Claymore SS SE shaves.

I was reminded how many more shaves I can get with these SE Feather Professional blades than my DE blades.
I learned that travel handles are just too small for my mits. Off to get a longer handle for the travel head and a slightly shorter handle for my Merkur 23C.
I learned that the Game Changer is an amazing razor delivering a smooth and comfortable close shave even with a blade going on 17 shaves.

I learned today that my one and only synthetic brush from Simpson is more than capable of whipping up a fantastic lather from a “bit harder” soap within the confines of the Captain’s Choice standard copper bowl.
rinsing slippery handles, prevents nicks and weepers, arising from loss of grip.

I tried a new soap today and I can already tell it will be a favorite, (1st time biased)??? We shall see over the next several weeks. MdC 
Yeah it’s a good one. Which plate? (I’m moving between the .68, .76, and .84, and can’t decide which is my favorite, they’re all great).

I have the SB and OC baseplates both in .84 gap. So far I would say exactly in the sweet spot for me.

Found a “shallow” angle for my JAWS razor that seems to have elevated my enjoyment of Happy Razor Fun Time
I learnt to take it easy with each subsequent pass and not to succumb to the temptation of putting more pressure to get a closer shave.

I learned that with this Gillette Bleue Blade the R41 and R89 are not that different in shave results with the R89 being more comfortable obviously.
Thom, Your name has come up in a few places.... questioning your shallow shaving angles. <eg>
I hope this hasn't negatively affected your "the joy of shaving" experiences. <eg>
I know it's heretical to some people.... but if I let the razor speak to me, my shaving angles aren't set in stone. Learning how to speak "Razor"..... an obscure but fun language, has changed my whole approach to shaving. It's more engaging for me, somehow.
My last shave was Wednesday before we left on our trip. I learned.... I still love shaving with my La Faulx Classic in SS with the Ti Crown handle. I was less thrilled with the two brushless shaving creams I bought for travel. The Cremo is the better of the two, but while it was slick enough, it doesn't feel as nice as the unscented shaving soaps I have. It'll be fine for 3 weeks, but I'll be glad to get home to my pre-shaves applied with a badger brush along with my shaving soaps applied the same way.
Not yet at least. And now that I’m “set,” I still wonder about an aluminum Karve Overlander with a 3” Knopf Pommel handle (with orange knub). If you see any in Bali, lemme know

A closer shave is never worth the nicks and irritation. Also, I need far more practice to pull off a successful ATG pass.
