What's new

Welcome.

Is this thing on..?

I have been asked to Steward the Club House for you fine gentlemen but respectfully declined. Then I was told about the health care program so I'm in:001_smile

In all seriousness now. I'm glad to be helping with anything asked of me from anyone. I've never participated in forums of ANY kind because of bad attitudes, ridiculous boundaries set on users, and just plain poor feedback or lack of. I'm happy to be active and share a few laughs and pokes at each other and be able to walk away as gentlemen but most importantly help one another out with such a fun hobby.

If there is anything of interest from anyone, please pass the ideas along. I've already mentioned this to my wife and she replied by leaving me the good pillow on the couch for me.

I spent years racing in endurance events from Ironmans to Ultra Marathons and have a vast knowledge of how to get through them physically and mentally. Marriage and kids take priority now but I still enjoy dabbling in education of endurance sports.

It is also exciting since this is a relatively a new forum for the site so it can only go up from here.

Thank you. Now that I've become addicted to running I'll probably be coming to you for tips and info. I've gone from just running to specifically working on my 5k time.

Yes, I'll buy from and support Arizona.

5K's are fun and I use to do as many as I could just to get out and get free food after the race:biggrin1:

I never prepared for a 5k specifically ( I was in the 21 min range) but always introduced them into my workouts just to get my speed workout for the week done. But I do know 5K's are very technique oriented since maybe the top 5 finishers are within seconds of each other so there is no real room for error and most races just come down to who woke up in a better fitness level that morning.

For competitive novices a lot just comes down to how well you handle lactic acid build up and can block the pain out. If you are getting into it, just get a few under your belt and get a read of how your body reacts. Then incorporate drills to work on speed. At first, plan on finishing strong than finishing fast.

Thanks for agreeing to do this.

Thanks Mark.

Guys and Gals, Mark is a legit expert and one terrific guy. He's really going to help improve this place even more from the terrific start we've already experienced.

I'll working on a marathon and 1/2 marathon guide we've used here at work for our employees. Just tweeking somethings and will get it up soon.

Please send me some ideas of what you would like to see.

I don't watch much sports anymore but because of work so I like to spend my time with the family and out grilling. So other than rugby and soccer, there isn't much that peeks my interest anymore so there won't be too much coming from me outside of endurance sports. So I keep hearing about this Tiger Woods guy.....whats new with him?
