Water Droplets

So I was bored after work the other day and decided to attempt taking pictures of water droplets!

Enjoy!

and the lack of a droplet (which seems oddly appealing...):

I agree! great stuff, I would also like to hear about the settings (aperture, speed, etc)

it could be cool to do it with liquids with different colours too.

i saw a show the other day where they were saying that the drop that hits the water is actually the same drop that splashes back out. ie, the drop in the first picture is not really splashback but in fact it "bounces" on the water and comes back up. i don't know what the circumstances were surrounding their setup, so maybe they were using different liquids/temperatures, but using two different colors would certainly make for an interesting shot.

Awesome stuff, was the camera on rapid fire with a bunch of throw away shots to sort through? I went through this with some shooting (guns) shots a while back, got muzzle flash on 1 shot out of 3-400.

That would be a pretty amazing picture.

It makes sense, water has resistance and density (well we don't feel it unless we hit it with our bellies or open hand)
Ants can walk over the water because of this, so to me it makes perfect sense that the drop would actually bounce back from that tiny resistance...

(did I get too technical?? I forgot this was a shaving forum hehe)
