Laughing Boy Scout Motto worked twice

Was a few weeks ago New Wet Shave was asking question about what stuff he needed to Wet Shave. I made two suggestions, good pair of surgical tweezer to remove ingrown hairs, and septic pencil to stop blood if nicked or cut.

Last night I could feel ingrown forming, I chased it a little with tweezers, no luck, so I decide to go after in am, after it grew longer overnight.

Got up could feel the ingrown better, after several attempt to grab n pull success. Started to shave, and on first pass, NICKED myself on my chin ever so slightly, Red Blood was the tell. Had the Septic Pencil to stop the Blood.

Thank goodness I was prepared, have not use the Septic Pencil in may more then 5 years, but nice to have when needed, then not have tools need for Ingrown Extraction, or Stopping Blood Flow, from nick or cut.

Great story!! And the motto is, ‘Good advice to a new shaver is often good advice for an old ’wet’ shaver!!’

If you Shave Den don’t have, Getone.🥰

I laught when people talk about “their den”, I use pencil 2 plastic box to store everything shaving related.

Well after thinking about my misadventure, little BLOOD from a Nick, it may have been a BAD BLADE, the Blade I use was the last of Five I got with my $1.25 FREE TEST RAZOR & BLADE.

The first Four worked OK, not GREAT by OK, they yielded 4-5 Shaves each before I disposed of the Blade. When I heard the sound I will call the of a Rake being dragged on Cement. Not working fine like the sound was like a Squirrel that was Chomping on Nuts.

So I think the last Blade was a DUD, should have dump it at beginning of Shave, but I blew it, and paid the price front paying attention to the sound the Blade was make making as I Shaved.

In life we make mistakes, and the best thing we can do is learn from our mistakes. Then not making the same mistake again.

Happy Shaves, and listen to the sound your Razor makes when shaving. JMHO

I have a back up, if needed. I’m normally “Be Prepared” it does help. At work even. Anytime I’m asked to train OS’s or AB’s on knot tying. I always let them know. About 90% of my knot tying skills come from my time in the Boy Scouts.

As a quickly-retired dollar store shave 'enthusiast' (thanks to GlazedBoker), I don't think 'Assured' and 'Safety' should appear on the same tuck.

My styptic pencil is from the 1950s (family "heirloom"), so it is somewhat septic I imagine. It is broken and discolored. But the alum underneath the scum is antiseptic (I hope).

Slickness is a sickness
I have a pencil, but use the much more covenient "matches". My styptic pencil looks more like a styptic stalagmite after being used sparingly.
