Warning! Veleiro shaving cream goes bad with warm temperatures!

Hi mates!

Some weeks ago I had a bad experience with this shaving cream. Other mates recently have had similar problems, so for me it's clear that is not only a sporadic issue and can happens to other people, so I have decided to open a thread to warn users about this.

The point is that this shaving cream doesn't tolerate high temperatures when is stored in your bathroom. If that happens (about 30º celsius), your shaving cream will go hardened inside the tube and it will be very difficult to use (really hard to squeeze outside the tube). And even all the smell will go away...

Some people said that Confiança suggest to store the shaving cream in a fridge a couple of days if this happens, but I couldn't check this point as I dumped my tube angrily when this happened to me... and I doubt that the smell will return if so...

For me this problem is unacceptable in a shaving cream thinked to use in warm weather (the after shaves range are really mentholated), so until Confiança decides to change the formula to solve this problem I probably won't buy it more.

Cheers!

Lots of them get wierd with heat. I leave mine in a gym bag in the car which gets to around 140 fahrenheit(60 c.). Proraso and La Toja get hard and kind of chunky, Palmolive gets runny. My solution was to use some sample-size containers, so the whole tubes don't get fouled up.

The real cheapies--Arko, Derby, and KMF--don't seem to be affected at all. Must be one of the slightly more expensive ingredients.

Yesterday a tub of TOBS Lavender was deliverd by UPS. It has been hot here in Iowa and it was very runny. I stirred it with a toothpick and put it in the fridge for about an hour. That helped but its still more of a yogurt consistancy than a shave cream. But, I used it this morning and it lathered like a champ and I got a good shave with it so I guess its ok. Ive read others have had this experience also. The good advice I got was to wait until winter time to order any more creams. Now I need to hunt some different kinds soap

FWIW - Speick shaving cream says it will solidify if stored over 86 degrees F. They say on the box that it will return to normal with no loss of quality when it cools down.
