About a month and a half ago I had surgery on my face to remove a small cyst from my cheek. It wasn't visible but I could feel it inside. So, obviously I have a scar left from surgery. My neighbor told me to put Vitamin E on it. I have been putting E oil on about three times a day for about a week. So my question is, does this work? Does Vitamin E help to reduce scars?

I am sorry to hear that, I really hope you're doing well.
Yes it's very common to use vitamin e on this type of thing.. Dont rub it in, just kind of dab it on with a cotton pad, you dont really want to use your hands. You dont need to cover with a bandage, but you can if you wish especially if the cut hasnt healed. You dont really need to reapply that much, let it set and do it's thing. Maybe like every 6 hours. In a few months you will see some results.

Yeah, the E should help. I'd use it at least 3 times a day, and one or two more times won't hurt either. Good luck.

Thanks, I'll keep using it and wait for some results.
I was actually instructed to use lotion with vitamin E by my surgeon for the express purpose of reducing the scar. He explained why it worked and it made sense. I still have a scar, but obviously I can't say whether or not the scar would have been worse if I didn't use it.
