So here are photos of both. I wasn't able to upload the images here. So I made a gallery.

Before I get the James Bingham sharpened I am going to clean the scales, soak in Nietsfoot oil, then lightly polish afterwards.

The stain on the Bismarck registered I tried magic eraser, but no luck.

Pretty cool that I learned how to shave with a straight razor using a ~200 year old razor (James Bingham). A week in and I'm capable of doing complete shaves W/XTG, and using both hands. But my shaves are 30+ minutes.

Absolutely love it.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the minor details of a razors appearance. Once they've been honed or touched up a couple of times and shaved with for a while any burnishing, gold wash etc. will be damaged or totally removed.
