Vintage Vie-Long; Thanks Juan!

My vintage Vie-Long with a heavy steel handle, that I ordered from Juan came in yesterday. It's a mixed horse-badger brush, with a 23mm knot, set at 52mm. It's not the world's densest, by any stretch, but I think it is similar to a Kent, from what I can gather.
Its flowthrough is amazing, leaving a beautiful amount of lather where you want it, and it really whips up a great lather. Despite its natural ability in a mug, it was a dream when I face lathered with La Toja. An EASY, thick 3 pass shave, and it could have been a 4 passer.

My pleasure! I shoul also add that in the initial two lathers, it lost 4 hairs and a piece of another. I'm chalking this up to the fact that it had sat for quite a few years and there is almost always a stray hair somewhere. However, my shave and a subsequent lather, just to play with it some more had no loose hairs pop up on me.
It seems like horse-badger is a really nice option that many haven't given a shot, quite yet.

Wow, what an awesome brush! I think it'd be too heavy for my stand, it might tip it over!
