Valobra Soft Soap: Menthol?

Hello Gents!

As we are going through spring and I sometimes already dream of next summer, I find myself thinking about summer-themed purchases.:001_smile
Which made me wonder about Valobra soft soaps. I have seen there is a puck of “Menthol Valobra”, not the hard stick but the soft putty.

Has anyone already tried this one? I cannot see any review…
How does it lather, smell, feel?

My question is: is it a one-note menthol soft soap, or a mentholated version of the traditional Valobra soap.:w00t: The latter would be a menthol take on that traditional Almond/Marzipan/Amaretto sweet scent which I cannot really figure out but which IS actually intriguing/alluring me… Go figure!

Well, thanks for reading, any help, info or insight will be much appreciated.

The soap is almost scentless, more soapy notes and no trace of almond. The menthol provides a very mild cooling effect. Overall much less scent and cooling than Proraso Green. I like the performance and the price is reasonable. Mold it into a bowl with a lid and use it like a regular soap.

+1

I don't get a lot of menthol scent from this... but it performs well.

:001_unsurOh well!!

If it is just weak menthol without any hint of the traditional Valobra Almond, I think I'd better keep the savings and pass on this one. Don't think the lather itself would be worth taking the risk, plus it would not have anything "Summer Special":lol::lol:
As if we needed excuses...

Any other thoughts?

Here are some summery soaps to consider:

* Anything Lime - Traditional English like Trumpers or newer glycerin based like QED
* QED - Tea Tree, Patchouli, Peppermint - supposed to be very cooling. It is on my list to try
* Bay Rum - Again the list is long and many have their favorites.
