Ultimate Karve Buyers' Guide

Sorry man. I’m two minutes away from getting a brass one in-spite of this new offering myself. Brass is cool. Don’t regret a thing. You’re going to love it.
Oh I regret nothing Sir, great guy, company and razor! Brass I wanted so I am happy.

Just ordered mine. I got the razor standard with an E plate via West Coast shaving. Ordered the C plate from Karve. Man... I hope I don’t regret it. My R41 is going to be hard to beat, but everyone says the Karve is as efficient, but smoother. We’ll see :).

Well done! I also have a Muhle R41 and am interested to compare the two. Got the B, C and D plates with mine.

I got the 3.5 inch handle with a SB E plate a couple of weeks ago Really liking it a lot!

Looking to get an OC C plate which theory says will be just a little less aggressive and even smoother.

Met Chris today at the SWest shave event in Arizona. He had samples of his razors on display. I would have bought one but he had a issue with customs in Canada. What you bring you bring back. Trust me I tried. I'm just wondering if I would like a razor that heavy.

Fwiw, Karve added info to the plate guide. Instead of just listing the gap, they list how far the blade exposure is positive or negative.

Invaluable imo.

Just listing the gap is like listing voltage without knowing the current.

'heavy'? What razor are you talking about? SS or alum?

Welcome to socialism :001_07:

I asked Chris that ? And he recommended 3 after looking at my face.
The one thing I don't like is the deal with the plates. Everyone is different. A endless question. If you bought all the plates you can go back and forth forever changing plates. I'd rather get a adjustable. Or if a old type works for you just get a old type. If you had one razor you would learn to use it. If you fell into the rabbit hole that is a different issue.
Remember. Guns do not kill people razors do. Just picture the headlines " California Man had a stash of 40 razors and thousands of deadly blades" It was clear he hated beards and had issues. California banned razor blades 4 years ago after a deadly attack. A local man shaved 21 snowflakes and clipped their man buns.
