What's new

Uh Oh... here comes another one.

While this might be a good option for a compact travel solution for those who like cartridges and canned goo, this isn't likely to appeal to those who prefer a traditional wetshave.

Also, from an environmental perspective, they've managed to make a product that is even less environmentally friendly than the standard disposable razor.

Overall, I see this as a high-priced gimick that has limited utility.

I am holding out for the Gillette Robo-Barber, which gives you a good old fashioned straight shave. It will retail for $10,000 and you will have to buy the brush, razor, soap/cream, chair, towels, alum block, and ASB separately. Barber's smock is included.

So, the whole thing is disposable? You can't replace the cartridge and put more cream in the handle? Some of these sites are annoying in the way they present information. I like a clear detailed description of all features, but I guess that wouldn't be good marketing.

Anyway, a clever idea, even though I suspect that it's junk.

I`d be more interested if it had 7 blades, and had shaving cream, and ASB in the handle. :001_tt2:
Hah! I'm waiting for the 8 bladed razor, called the Octoshave, that dispenses pre-shave lotion, shaving cream, aftershave balm and automatically hones itself whenever you place it back into it's holder.

+1 Mr Imperial, how wonderful it is to not have to worry about these things. The fact that there are now at least three contenders to the race for the most ridiculously over-engineered cartridge razor, only makes the sitting back and relaxing even more enjoyable.

Too gimmicky for me. I'm glad it's a US product as it won't be appearing on the streets here anytime soon.

I'll stick to my DE and Erasmic Cream thankyou very much.

" Store managers encouraged the brothers to improve their product — add more blades, they suggested. So the Tomassettis did."(in the NY Times article)

Now we know why newer razors have more blades-store managers are in charge of quality control!!!!
