I posed this question in someone else's thread in the shaving soap section, but I thought I might actually get a better response in a dedicated thread in this section, so here goes. Does anybody know the "story" on the scent of Trumper rose cream? I have two pots of it that date back roughly three and four years, which I had before any talk of Trumper reformulation, and they smell identical to each other. I bought a tube more recently (say, two or three years ago) that smelled quite different - drier and more faint. I thought I got a bum tube, but then when all the talk of reformulation started, I thought that was the answer: I had gotten a reformulated rose tube. It bummed me out, because I didn't like the newer scent at all, whereas I really liked the older scent. I pretty much figured that was it for me and Trumper rose - use the old stuff judiciously, and enjoy it while it lasted. Then, I got a sample of rose cream last month in a shipment from QED, and it smells identical to my old rose tubs. I mean spot on. It appears to be a new sample, although I really can't tell for sure. So now I'm totally confused. Was there a change at all? Did they change it, then change it back? Is the sample I got just old? Or what? Anybody have any ideas?
