Samples for Cyril R. Salter, Musgo Real, and Pre de Provence?

Hi Everyone,

Lately I’ve been going through some samples of Castle Forbes, Geo F. Trumper, Taylor of Old Bond Street, and Truefitt & Hill. All of these have worked very well for me and it’s fun to see which scents appeal to me the most and which scents I wouldn’t consider buying a full tube or bowl of.

Three of the shaving creams that I’ve never tried, but have heard great things about are Cyril R. Salter, Musgo Real and Pre de Provence. Does anyone if there are any North American retailers (I’m from Canada) that offer samples of these three creams? Thanks so much for your time!

I've heard that No. 63 by Pre de Provence smells incredible, but that it's not the type of cream you lather with a brush.

When it comes to Cyril R. Salter, there are three scents I'm particularly interested in... French Vetiver, Indian Sandalwood, and Sublime Citrus. The four other scents (Almond, Lime, Mint, and Rose) I have from other brands.

I have all three of the Salter creams you mentioned. Almost done with the sandalwood. The vetiver is unique. This is my second tub of it. Very earthy. It's like pulling a bunch of vetiver grass out of the ground and shoving your face into the roots and inhaling.

I noticed that Connaught Shaving has 10ml samples of all the Salter creams available.

Cyril R. Salter makes great shaving creams. I use the Wild Rose and French Vetiver, both excellent. My initial reviews can be seen via the link below. I purchased these from Connaught Shaving who also sells samples.

Thanks Flintoid and Lane for the recommend of Connaught Shaving. I'll be ordering the Salter samples from them for sure. Perhaps I'll even try their Almond, Lime, Mint and Rose to compare them to what I've sampled from the other brands.

Also, I'm assuming that I'll likely need to order a full tube of Musgo Real and Pre de Provence in order to try them out. With PdP it will be No. 63, but does anyone have a preference when it comes to the four scents from Musgo Real (I believe Orange Amber has been discontinued).

If you are interested in Musgo Real, there is also the Lavanda cream made by Ach. Brito which performs very similarly. It is less expensive than Musgo. Connaught may have it.

A tub of PdP lasts a very long time, so it works out to be quite economical. Some people get about a year from a 150mm tub shaving most days. I've seen it on sale sometimes around $14.
