TOMs all discontinued?

Just a quick question folks. I just recently found a place with some TOMs shaving cream still in stock, but I had heard that they were discontinued. The only variety that they had was the Calendula, and didn't know if they were keeping that particular scent and axing the rest, or what the deal was. If they are all discontinued I think I'll go ahead and stock up... So are they all discontinued for sure?

Unless they start production again, the existing stock is all she wrote.

How much per tube? There is an outlet store here that has a bunch at two and a half bucks a pop.

The place I found em is selling them at $6 a tube! No discount or anything. I guess $6 isn't too bad for a product that isn't being made anymore...

I have 1.5 tubes of mint and .5 tube of calendula left. I am going to try and get a few more together at some point, but I figure that I rarely use creams, so what I have should last a long time, and if it ever ran out... there are other fishcreams in the sea. Also, whatever remaining stock must be at least 1-2 years old by now. It'll probably be a bit stiff, but someone once recommended I toss the tube in the sink while I soaked my brush to soften it prior to use and it works like a charm.

This is sad news. Great cream for a great price. I like mixing the mint with Mama Bear Rosemary Mint for a summertime superlather.

Whole Foods seems to still stock it. I presume it is just remaining stock.

The two types were Mint and Calendula. The Mint was far superior, but both are good. I am finishing off my Calendula tube now. I'll miss them due to the ease of purchase and price, but there are better products out there.

I'd take Tom's Mint over Proraso anyday though, no comparison in my book. The peppermint owns the eucalyptus.

Palmolive Red all over again. I have half a tube of mint left. Might be the most cooling cream I've ever used. Great in the summer.

I like the Calendula, but it is not worth hording. Great scent, but there are better creams available.

It's always sad when a manufacturer of traditional shaving stuff ceases production. RIP

On a lighter note I thought it said 'TOBS' for a minute, had a minor coronary.

Wouldn't take too many tubes to make the difference in shipping. PM me if you'd like me to grab a bunch for you.
I think I'm alright. I'll just snag a few and be done with it. Thanks anyway Gumby.

HA! I love it when I can give people a scare like that .

Just look at the cream in the tube if you buy it and it's not sealed, make sure it is still good. I once got a tube of Axe Denim which I think was old/expired, there was no date on it. The cream was very hard, hard to get out of the tube and could not lather it if my life depended on it. I also recently saw some Dettol cream at a local Indian market that was made in 2004 and it clearly says on the tube it's good for 24 months.

A trick for harder tubes of Tom's: cut them open and squeeze the whole container into a sealable jar (e.g. the usual Anchor Hocking bowl with lid). Treat it like a soft soap = goodbye stiff-cream-in-tube frustration, hello Tom's goodness!

Lemme guess, the Ft.Union store is a few tubes poorer now :glare:

No, another one, but I did check there as per your recommendation. When I checked that store out I couldn't find any TOM's shave cream. Actually, I was surprised at how few shaving products they had in general. All they had were two small shelves next to the maxi-pads.

Really? The last time I was there they had a bunch of the Calendula tucked away down in the bottom left of the shaving section. Of course, this was before I moved across the city a few months ago.
Maybe rtaylor61 got them first :001_rolle
